Tricky stuff, almost mastered

Chambers visits

It's been a week full of showing off and snuggles, with separate visits from Uncle Dan and Gram.

Mom and Dad actually took off one afternoon for a great brunch and some time just holding each other's hands. Much needed and appreciated!

Willis Tower

"What is that?" you ask.

C'mon, people, it soon will be the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere! Know your landmarks!

"What about Sears Tower?" you ask.

OK, so you're not too uninformed.

Maybe you just didn't hear that Sears Tower no longer will exist - at least by that name - come this summer. It will be renamed Willis Tower.

"What?!" you ask.

Now that's a good question.

But it's true. Go read about it at chicagotribune.com.

Who taught this kid his colors?

Mom: Lincoln, what color is Raggedy Andy's hair?
Lincoln: Red!

Mom: What color is Levynn's hair?
Lincoln: Red!

Mom: What color is Lincoln's hair?
Lincoln: Red!
Mom: Good!

Lincoln: Dad brown!
Mom: Yes, Dad does have brown hair. What color is Mama's hair?
Lincoln: Gray!

Mistaken for a girl today

There once was a boy
Who had a little curl
Right on the back of his neck ...

"Well, we're movin on up"

"To the east side. To a deluxe apartment in the sky..."

That's right, we're moving! We signed a lease today at a high-rise apartment building downtown. We'll start the move-in process at the beginning of April and be done by the end of the month.

If you're wondering why we're moving, well, we've included a Google map so you can see for yourself. But we'll give you two key points right now: Mary Kate will be able to walk to work, at least in decent weather, and Levynn will be able to walk to one of the best public elementary schools in Chicago, rain or shine.

Looking at the map, you'll see a park across the street. Click on "Search nearby" and type "Ogden" to find the elementary school, which is on the other side of that park. And if you move the map around, you'll notice that Michigan Ave. - and the Hancock Center - are just five blocks to the east.

We're downsizing to two bedrooms and a much smaller kitchen, but we actually are gaining overall space. That was a must. Have a look at the floorplan.

More details: It's a climate-controlled apartment, and the building has a heated, indoor pool; a fitness room; a rooftop deck that offers a panoramic view of the city; and a free, continental breakfast on weekdays (seriously!).

So we're very excited!

But do you know what Levynn likes the best, at least after one visit? She won't get so many bruises on her knees anymore, thanks to the soft, carpeted floors. Some people are easy to please!
